Total Subsidy: ₹56,000 per hectare (35% of ₹1.60 lakh cost)

Payment Schedule:

• 1st Installment: ₹28,000/ha (after planting & verification)
• 2nd Installment: ₹28,000/ha (after survival check)
• Payment Method: Installments are released through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to your Aadhaar-linked bank account

Timeline: 2nd installment must be claimed within 2 financial years after 1st installment

Objective: To increase coconut cultivation in new areas (traditional & non-traditional states) and stabilize existing areas to boost production.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Land Requirements:

• Traditional States: Minimum 0.08 ha (20 cents) / Minimum 10 seedlings
• Non-Traditional States: Minimum 0.05 ha / Minimum 5 seedlings
• Maximum: 2 hectares per beneficiary

Who Can Apply:

• Individual farmers
• FPOs (can coordinate application collection)
• Institutions or establishments with suitable land

Planting Density: 160 seedlings per hectare (standard calculation)

Traditional States: Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Puducherry, A&N Islands, Lakshadweep

Non-Traditional States: North Eastern States (Assam, Tripura, etc.), Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh

⚠️ Important Conditions

Survival Rate Requirements (for 2nd Installment):

• Traditional States: Minimum 80% survival
• Non-Traditional/NER States: Minimum 60% survival

Mandatory Requirements:

• Geo-tagged Photos: Mandatory geo-tagged photos of the planted area required
• Display Board: Beneficiaries with >1 acre must display board: “Assisted by Coconut Development Board under the scheme Expansion of Area under Coconut during [Year]”
• Seedling Source: Seedlings must be procured from CDB DSP farms, accredited nurseries, or Govt. nurseries
• Replacement: If seedlings die/damage, grower must replace at own cost (no fresh subsidy for replacements)

Timeline: 2nd installment must be claimed within 2 subsequent financial years after 1st installment receipt

Planting Norms

FPO Coordination

• FPOs can coordinate application collection
• In North East, FPOs registered with Agri/Horti Depts are also eligible facilitators
